The Centre for Inclusive Citizenship (CINC) is interested in the social constructions of citizenship and the associated processes of exclusion. Building on an analysis of exclusion, the Centre takes an interdisciplinary approach to exploring existing or desirable practices of inclusion. In this context, exclusion is understood not as exclusion from society, but rather as marginalisation within society. Who is included or excluded, and in what way, can only be understood if the analysis of processes of inclusion and exclusion takes the dimension of power into account as a central factor.
